Stretched Teeshirt to Baby Singlet-refashion
Yes, I got brave and attempted knits again! I got this cute organic cotton Rata and Ruby tee shirt at the op shop a while ago. It was a size 2 but it had lost its shape at the bottom as cotton tee's often do, but I love the print so wanted to find a way to reuse it.
The latest Ottobre Spring had a cute tank singlet pattern in it so I decided to give it a go and make a little fitted singlet for poppet.
I'm still coming to grips with knits so projects like this are a great way to practice. Second hand tee shirts don't cost alot so its no biggie if you get it wrong. Its also a quicker project as you can use something that is already hemmed. I was able to reuse the ribbing from the neck line and used some spare ribbing for the arms. Poppet looks cute in it, although it would looks just as cute on a little boy. Near the ribbing on the sleeves is a little bubbly...but I guess that's just part of the learning process.
